SEO Strategy

What’s an SEO Strategy???  For me it’s like this…

I’ve been hoping to get the top position in google for “web hosting” ever since I started my web hosting business years ago.  I did everything I could but to no avail.  It’s just that there are too many competitors in the whole world wide web that targetting the top position for web hosting is like hitting your head against the wall at 150mph.  I need a new SEO strategy and this is what I’ve come up so far.

  1. Target related keywords that do not have much competitors.
  2. Compete for keywords against other websites that have low PR only.  Competing for keywords with websites that have PR5 or more is pretty tough.
  3. Optimize my website to be 99.9% SEO Friendly.
  4. Get backlinks from high-PR web hosting related websites and get as much link juice as I can.
  5. Lastly, I need to make optimized web hosting doorway pages.  Doorway pages are good if you end up delivering what the searcher is looking for.  It is bad if they searched for “Cheap Recipes” then find your site but end up in something entirely different such as “Cheap Hosting”.

I think that will do for now.  And thus is my SEO Strategy.

Google is pretty hard to please but sometimes there are easy ways to get high rankings in Google.  One of them is to look out for old domains with lots of backlinks that are nearing expiration.  Why is this gold?  Imagine if you manage to get your hands on one of these domains.  First, lots of websites will already be linking back to you.  Second, if it’s PR is high, then you inherit it as well.

So how do you do it?  Well I haven’t tried it yet but visit Benj’s website and you might see clues on how he does it.

Now, I think it’s my time to do a search myself. :D
