No offense to the guys at Google but I just feel like posting about this. I searched for “google toolbar” in Google and I found this ad in Tagalog.

Take a look at the text in the ad. It says, “Magpasadya ng pindutan sa browser, itigil mga pop-up atbp. - Libre”
If you know how to speak tagalog then you’re most probably laughing right now or at least lifted one eyebrow. Either Google hired a bad translator OR is using a bad translation engine. Either way… I think they need to change the wordings.
Go google!

Hmm. Maybe they hired a purist from the department of linguistics.
They could’ve opted to use the vernacular instead of sticking with the not-so-common words in Tagalog. I am from Bulacan, but spent most of my times in Manila and my friends laugh whenever I use words that are what-they-call “malalim”. Language is evolving by the minute to suit the chaging needs of those who speak it. Who knows, we might be able to hear even gay lingo, say, in the senate when time comes. Hahaha!

LOL! Gay lingo in the senate… now that’s something to hear.
